I have been sick for a couple days so I totally rested yesterday and slept in today.  I did go the gym for yoga and did 3 on the tredmill.  i felt pretty good, I feel like I'm getting a little better and sweating a little will just get the rest out-right?   I'm doing a trail run tomorrow and group on thurs. then off again on vacation.   These are supose to be y high milage weeks and It's not happening that way.   I have a 25 miler in 2 weeks so hopefully that'll make up for my slackin!

I was going to rn but still feel sick and biking sounded easier today.  Did 20 fast miles with some friends.  Legs felt good but my lungs were burning and now I'm coughing, oh no.

I put the whole 10 down under threshhold because it was!  I got there (to meet the BBK's) just in time to start out on their 2nd 5k.  So I did not get a warm up.  I ran with Dean and Jody and we finished in 23 min.  With a few min. cooldown we started out on #2 5k.  I ran with Jody again (thanks Jody).  We did not talk much, we were breathing too hard!   About the same time 22 min.  I really needed a warm up, I could feel things starting to hurt that don't normally hurt.   The last 5k we only ran the first mile fast then did the last 2 slow (8mm).  I did a little extra to hit 10 and was done.  I did eat 1/2 a banana this morning which helped but I really need to warm up.  Now off to Lake Powell for the weekend.  I hope i can find somewhere to run!

After three days of no running and no sleeping i was going crazy!  We finally got the baby to sleep all night in a strange place (Lake Powell) and so I got to run.   The only road around was a long hill, a three mile hill.  It felt hard!  I was hot and tired and lazy from lying around for so many days.  I tried to stay at marathon pace but the hill was too steep and long, pretty run though and  I got to jump in the lake when I was done, yea!!

Made myself get up and run with the group which was hard since we got home late from our trip.  We did some speed work on the JPT and then some hill stuff and a cool down.   I felt good today, a lot better then yesterday.  I can finally keep up comfortably with some in the group that I have not been able to keep up with.  I just hope i can do that for 26 miles, not sure about that.  I have to run a lot of miles this week since i was sick last week.

Was going to run but decided to sleep in and climb today instead.  I'll do a long one tomorrow.  I'm all about the rest days!  My knees need them!

My Mom said she missed my kids so I decided to sleep in today and do a trail run later while the kiddos played with Grandma.  I ran 10 miles up Milcreek on the pipeline trail.  Up Rattlesnake to the end of the trail and back.  I stopped my garmin to tie my shoe and forgot to start it again (I hate when I do that!).   I'm guessing 9 or 10 miles.  I ran for 1 hr. 20 min.  It was hot and /i pushed it fast to get back to the car.  Wasatch 100 is tomorrow, yea!!!   I get to run the last 25 with my friend Ryan M. and see if it's something i want to shoot for or not.

I'm resting up today for my big run tonight.  Well "BIG" run is all relative.  I'm doing 1/4 of the Wasatch 100 tonight as a pacer for my friend Ryan M.  I meet him at 1a.m. at Brighton.   I can't wait!!  It's online all day so you can watch the runners progress in real time.  I'm so jelous!!

WASATCH100- Well it was a strange but amazing race.  I ran the last 25 as  pacer with my friend Ryan M.   I met him at 1:20 a.m. at Brighton and ran with him through the night to the finish.  He as in o.k. shape for someone who just ran 75 miles.  Most people actually looked o.k. a few looked like death!!  The call the Brighton aid station "THe Morgue" for a good reason.  From brighton the trail is steeep and sandy and dark and cold and everyone is out of it!!!  Ryan kept lying down and falling asleep.  My job was to keep him awake and moving.  We ran into a bull moose in the dark and were scared to death!  The first 8 miles went on this way.  Up and down and up and down and just trying to stay awake.  He was not very talkative at this point and i tried my best but soon ran out of stories.  Each aid station was like heaven!!  We ate pancakes, sausage, brownies, candy, etc, etc.  It is a rad race when you eat brownies at aid stations!  At one point around 3a.m. I fell asleep while running and endo'd off the trail.  It was enough to keep us both laughing for miles.   we also ran into some awesome crazy guy who had camped out in the middle of no where all night to cheer the runners on.  He had beach balls, a radio, a hawain shirt, ect.   He made us so happy , I think I told him I loved him.   Finally the sun started to rise and ryan got some more sausage and he was a new man.  We put on our ipods and started to run, really run.  I  was having a hard time keeping up which was a blow to my ego!  Ryan was on mile 90 and he was cruisin!!  We did the last 17 in good style and it was hard terrain.  Very steep up and down, very rocky and dusty.  I really wanted to do this race until those last few miles.  It never gets easy, ever!  The last mile is on the road in Heber and it's uphill!   To summarize it was an awesome thing to be a part of.   I cried at the finish because I was so inspired by all those runners who made it!  What an accomplishment.   I am in, I just need a couple years and some 50 milers to see if I am mentally tough enough.  A beautiful, amazing course though, so fun to see how all the wasatch mts. are connected.  Ryan finished in 31 hrs.  in 54th place.  Our friend Jared got 4th in 22hrs!!  He's a maniac!

I just wanted to add for future reference.. The miles from Brighton to Ant knoll were steep uphill, lots of walking, and soft sand.   From the top of LCC it's steep downhill and rocky-would be very painful after 80 miles of running-bring ski poles for this whole section.  Climb out of ant knoll is aweful, so steep and slow.  Then there is some runnable sections, flat and nice trail, to pot bottom.  Then it's steep again, on a road and very hot-you'd have to save something extra for this next section.  From pot bottom to the end it's up and down, up and down-felt like we were running in circles for hrs.!  This would be mentally very hard!  Then finally at about mile 95 it's downhill again but steep and rocky-my ankles hurt!   The last few miles were nice, downhill, soft and heavenly.  Then out to the road and about a mile to the homestead.  I would really want to finish in 26-28 hrs. before the heat got bad again.  Yea right, that's a long ways off!  I may be dreamin!

Ran with the group today although I really did not want to and probably shouldn't have.  I am sore and tired from this weekend and i have some little pains in my knees and calves that need some rest.  We warmed up, did some 2 mile repeats that i ran way to fast trying to keep up with Kelli.  Then we did some hill sprints that I took really easy. And some more cool down miles to the car.  It's always fun to see everyone and chat but it hurts sometimes!

I did some good stretching today and decided to do an easy run down the JPT with the jogger and the baby.  Man that is hard!  I just did 4 easy miles at 9-9:30 pace but I forgot how hard it is to push the stroller, yuck!  Finn had fun but I think I'll wake up early next time and go alone.   My right calve is hurting and one spot on my right knee cap.  One more hard track workout tomorrow then I need to take it easy.

Ran with the group today, hopefully one of the last torturous track workouts of the year!  I ran from home and met the group on the warm up so i got in the full warm up which helped.  We did 2 laps on the track then started the Yasso 800's.  I luckily had Julie to ran with and push me along or I would have quit.  We were suppose to do 8 but I only did 6 then ran some slow laps instead.  My right calf is still bugging me from the weekend.  We pushed it pretty hard, at least I thought so. Juie is really fast and it was probably slow for her.  We came in at 3:26 almost every time.  I ran home slowly then stretched and fell fine tonight.  I'm rested tomorrow so I can get a good one in on SAt.

I finally did a marathon paced run with some bbkers.  I keep doing all my long runs on the trails and end up going pretty slow.  I needed to get in one good fast one so I'd feel better about st. george.  We ran 12 miles on the JRP trail form Cheris's house.  I ran out with Cheris and Michelle and back with Julie.  We did some 9mm and some 8 and some at 7:30.  I felt o.k. going out, windy and feeling tired form the last few weeks.  I tried some EFS gel at mile 7 and started feeling good.  We ran the last 6 pretty fast and I felt great.  It wasn't t hard to keep a 7:30-8 min. pace.  It made me feel less nervous for st. g.  I'm getting excited.

Woke up at 6:30 to ride but it was dark and cold so I went back to bed.  Finally rode at noon with a friend.  It was sunny and beautiful!  We did 16 miles and I felt tired.  I did not eat lunch before which made me feel weak and tired.  I need to rest these legs up for S.G. I feel a overdone.

When I saw another track workout i wan not too motivated to get up.  I slept in till 5:45 then ran down to meet the group.  Luckily Peggy was doing some easy laps so I ran with her.  We left the track and did a quick mile at 7:30 and under.  Then I said goodbye and ran 3 more miles on my way home.  I love tapering!  It's so nice to just run slow and enjoy the morning.

Strange morning.  I woke up at 4:30 with a stomach ache.  I woke up again when my alarm went off but for some reason went back to sleep.  Woke up again at 6, ahh!  I ran out the door to meet the group.  I met them one mile into the two 5k's.  I ran the first one very slow, which felt nice.  I ran the next one with Cheryl and she killed it.  We were suppose to do marathon pace but she was doing 7 min. miles and I just wanted to keep up.  We did it in 22 min.  I felt good and it was fun to pretend we were sprinting to the finish.  I fell lazy with these little workouts lately.

decided to run some hills today for s.g. I ran down 98th to the freeway and back home.  8 miles.  I tried to warmup then stay at 8 and under the rest of the way.  I should have gone easier but keep wanting to make sure my pace is feeling good for s.g. I felt good till the end then was worn out and hurting in strange places, not a good sign!  My feet hurt, arches, knees.  I'm not sure what's going on, I need to run easy all week next week.

Did a nice easy 4 miles today.  It felt so nice to sleep in and run slow.  It was over to fast, I really wanted to keep going but i made myself stop.  I guess this is why you taper because i'm going to be jones'n to run fast by SAt.

Met the BBK's at Bingham.  Did .4 easy then mile repeats on the hills around Rustic roads. I pushed it too hard and kept it in the 7.20 range and under.  It felt good though.  I felt great and I'm getting worried I'm going to run too fast the first 1/2 of S.G. then be in trouble.  We then ran some easy miles to cool down.
