We did our own mini half ironman in s.g. this weekend.  We started off with....

25 min. swim in the COLD Sand Hollow res. where the swim will be in 3 weeks.  Felt great, no booties+much =faster swim.

Then we rode from the res. to S.G. and did one loop of the course, 68 miles, 70 if you count where I got lost.  Took 4 hrs. avg. 16.5 mph.  Right on track, felt good, tried to pace myself.  Not so sure I can do another loop though and then run a marathon!

We then ran 6 miles of the very hilly, hot miserable run course.   Avg. pace was 9:20 which was good considering I felt like I wanted to lay down and cry.  My legs were heavy and tired.  I did feel better and better as we went though which gives me some hope.

I only had a little water and no food on the run and by the end I wanted to die!  It was also 85 degrees which it will be when I run in 3 weeks, ahhh!  It was so hot!  I am truly very scared now!!!   It' s going to be so hard!!  One more hard week and one more long weekend is all I have, then it';s time to see if it all was worth it!

Wow just reading about your practice Ironman makes me tired. You are truly amazing. With all the training you've done I'm sure you'll do great and it will all be worth it.

Holy Moly girl!! No food and little WATER and you still finished?!? You will do a GREAT job at the full race, just think of all the extra energy you'll have from taper and actually eating!

You are such an amazing woman - SO inspiring. Keep up all your hard work!!
