Ran 16 miles with my Dad today while he did his first marathon (at 65 yrs. old).  It was fun but the slow pace was hard!  I left him a few times and ran fast for a couple miles then came back to get him.  Ran 13 with him but 3 more going back and forth.   He finished in 5.20 mi.n  I have never seen the pack back there on the end and I have new respect!  It's a long time to be out there and so hot by then.  My avg. pace was only 10.  It was good ironman training though, I hope to be able to run that fast!  Only drank EFS-no gu, just that and water.  Felt great more needed some gu gummies too.  I also wore compression socks for the first time and either that or my slow pace but I fell great today, not sore at all.

It's good you ran back with your Dad so you can see how it is at the back for us old people. I think your Dad did a great job and so did you.
