I actually made it the early group miles, must be close to a race!  I'm trying to get in at least 40 miles this week then taper next week.   We did an easy 3 then a hard 6.5, avg. pave was 8:20, we did some hill sprints and some speed work.  I had a granola bar before the run today and I can really tell a difference.  I need some extra fuel in the a.m.'s.  Felt great today.

8 mile Temple hill routes in the snow!  avg. pace was 8:20 which i was happy with because it snowed 2 inches and the roads were terrible.  Left knee was hurting a little.  I think going from 20 mile weeks to 40 is probably not the smartest thing to do.    I had a 20 miler on antelope planned for Sat. but now I may have to do corner canyon instead because of time.

I did a training run with a big group on antelope island today.  It was fabulous!!  I love running on the island.  It was sunny and warm and so beautiful.  The run we did was really flat which is not what I wanted but it was fast so that made up for it.  Avg. pace was 8:20 which for a trail is great (I think?)  I took a caffeine Gu at one hr. and some shot blocks at 2 hrs. and was ready for something more at 3 hrs. but we were done.   Felt great.  Calves and low back were sore by the end?
